I sat there staring at the cheese, the conversation continued around me, but I was transfixed. Tom and our client Corinne, the owner of Park City Creamery, continued talking about what she wanted her TV commercial to look like. Suddenly they both turned to look at me and that’s when I blurted out the perfect answer.
I hadn’t given much thought to the project ahead of the first meeting since I didn’t know much about the business. I was expecting to learn about the products and what she wanted. She brought out a plate of her best cheeses and we had a few samples as we started to talk.
Corinne wanted to make a TV commercial that tied cheese in together with skiing. At first I didn’t see the connection between the two, I had no idea how we were going to approach this. Then I glanced at the plate that was set before us. The conversation faded away as I stared at the cheese in the center of the plate. Both of the others at the table turned to me, thinking I had just tuned them out. But it had all clicked. The cheese looked just like a snowy mountainside. It was white with lines and ridges running down it just like a ski slope.
